Microsoft Fabric is the comprehensive tool solution for your entire business intelligence environment. In this suite, Microsoft combines all tools for comprehensive data processing in a single cloud-native product. From reporting and advanced analytics to real-time reporting, everything is included. Thanks to this all-in-one approach, Microsoft Fabric reduces the entry barriers for setting up a comprehensive BI architecture as well as for entering the cloud. 7 Experiences with over 30 services

The offer within Microsoft Fabric comprises seven specialised subject areas, so-called “Experiences”. Together, these cover the entire spectrum of data processing. Each of the experiences in turn contains different services. These functions within the thematic focal points can be provided or exchanged as required. This means that Experiences and services can be individually put together and used depending on the business use case. All modules are always connected to a central data store, the OneLake. This enables integrated, simple and direct data exchange across all modules.

More than just Power BI

The most widely used Fabric experience is probably Power BI. However, with its Fabric ecosystem, Microsoft offers much more than just a reporting system. Fabric makes it possible to build a comprehensive data platform for your company.

For example, the Synapse Data Warehousing and Synapse Data Engineering experiences can be used by data engineers to prepare and transform their data. The Experience Data Factory is designed to support these processes as a powerful and easy-to-use ETL/ELT tool. With the help of Synapse Date Science, data scientists can create in-depth analyses and train machine learning models. In the next step, data analysts can then visualise the processed data from the previous experiences in Power BI in a way that is easy to understand and evaluate. If your company also processes real-time data, Synapse Real Time Analytics is used. This allows you to make decisions as quickly as possible based on your real-time situations.

The analytics playground in the cloud

Microsoft Fabric is an all-in-one solution for business intelligence architectures. This not only means that Fabric covers all aspects of a BI solution. Fabric also bundles all experiences and services in a single package that you can easily access centrally.

The billing model is also very simple. With Fabric, you pay for the computing power in your Fabric Suite (in abstracted capacity units) and for the data storage (in GB). As soon as you have taken out a Fabric subscription, the Fabric environment is ready for use, and you can start using your playground straight away.

You can try out any service, set it up, delete it again or use it for productive workloads. The entire fabric environment is 100% cloud-based and uses the same principles as Power BI. You don't have to worry about hosting, the costs of individual services, the activation of Fabric services with each other or accessibility by your users: you can get started straight away!
